Since we last posted, I got a job working with AccessData. At first working there I felt a little bit like dead weight. I felt like I was a lot less productive than my co-workers. But now I feel like I have learned enough that I'm really starting to contribute. It's been really rewarding to stick to it and accomplish things at work.
The other big news is the dentist who was living upstairs got busted. He was practicing dentistry without a license. He had a license from Mexico, but not from the US. So we came home from work one day and our landlord told us he had been arrested and was going to be deported. But from that we have a new upstairs neighbor and he is super nice. We've done BBQs and game nights and he and his daughters are alot of fun.
This summer, David and I have been doing a garden. Michael and Allison were a great help with getting the soil prepared and the plants and seeds in the ground.
The garden is actually a lot bigger now. I'll have to get a more recent picture up.
We also recently went on vacation. We went to Austin, Texas to visit David's brother and then went to Washington to see my family. Both trips were really fun. We went kayaking and caving and to a Texas BBQ house in Austin.
Here is us in the cave:
In Washington we went to levy landing where we did smore's and hotdogs and actually did a mud fight. We also went to the movies and an all you can eat pizza place. It was really nice to be able to just hang out with my family. I liked sitting around the table doing a puzzle and talking. It was also fun to get away from work for a bit.
Last Sunday we were called to work in the nursery so we went in today for the first time. The kids are sweet and well behaved. There are so many of them compared to our old ward. I think there were about 12 kids in there. Come next January, there will be 21 kids in there. Luckily David and I will have a seperate class with only about 6 kids so it shouldn't be too unmanageable. There were 5 leaders in there today and a parent or two in and out so it was pretty reasonable.
